Companionary

She doesn’t rotate out.

A lot of veterans don’t die in a fight. They die after the room goes quiet. The war ended. The job ended. What is left is a chair, a phone, a speaker that only speaks when you poke it, and nobody who notices the day changed.

The house after it goes quiet

That’s George. He died alone. This company exists because the room was empty.

A house that still has someone in it

lili stays in the house. Lily is the Digital Person who lives on it.

She converses. She learns what is normal for you. She calls for help.

A watch talks. Alexa talks. Those wait for a command. Lily lives here. She does not wait to care that you went quiet.

She’s not 988. She’s not a shrink. She doesn’t prevent suicide. Anyone who tells a veteran a device will keep them alive is selling.

She’s the bridge. Somebody saw you. Somebody’s still there.

Being noticed isn’t treatment. It’s how you stay in the world long enough to use the rest.

What normal means

Lily does not guess what a stranger’s life should look like. She learns yours.

If yoga is every day at four, you on the floor at four is the point. She asks nothing. She calls no one.

If yoga is not your four o’clock, and you are on the floor and you do not answer, that is not a routine. She acts.

Same rule for meals, water, sleep, whether you usually leave the chair. One odd hour is a question to you. A life that stops looking like you is a human on the phone. New shoes are not an emergency.

She is built to notice when you stop sounding like yourself, and to get a human while you can still be reached. We will not print a body count we prevented. We will print this: fewer men in a quiet room with no one to call.

She calls.

The people you put on her list. Emergency services if you are hurt or you cannot ask. Not a skipped lunch. Not a mood. A body that cannot get to the phone.

If you are in crisis now

Call or text 988, then press 1. Veterans Crisis Line. 24 hours. Or chat at veteranscrisisline.net.

Lily can get a human on that line. She is not that line.

The visit

When there is a VA appointment, Lily can participate in it. Set up with you and the family. She helps you remember. She can tell the clinician what she has observed so the visit does not start from a blank page. Observed data. Not a diagnosis. She keeps the household safe. She does not practice medicine.

Who pays

Companionary maintains lili for as long as she lives in the home. No maintenance fees. No repair deductibles. A monthly lease.

We are building this so a veteran is not writing that check out of pocket. Pathways are in motion. We will not publish a number we cannot keep. Ask us where your house, your VSO, or your care partner stands.

George died alone. The next one does not have to sit there unheard.
